FLINT, MI — Twin Flint brothers have been sentenced to lengthy terms in prison after they shot three people and a dog in a dispute over a cellphone.

Trahuan Robinson, 38, was sentenced Tuesday, April 14, by Genesee Circuit Judge Joseph J. Farah to serve more than 50 years behind bars after he and his brother, Jajuan Robinson, shot three people on the city’s south side.

James Melton, the father of one of the victims, said his son was shot three times during an incident that was “totally unnecessary.”

“What a waste of life,” Melton said to the brothers during the sentencing hearing. “But, I hope you guys do something positive with your life in prison.”

Jurors found Trahuan Robinson guilty in March of two counts of assault with intent to murder and first-degree home invasion. Farah sentenced him to serve 40-60 years on the assault charges and a nearly 10-year consecutive term for home invasion.

He faced up to life in prison.

Jajuan Robinson pleaded guilty to three counts of assault with intent to murder, first-degree home invasion, felon in possession of a firearm, felony firearm and killing/torturing an animal. He was sentenced to serve a minimum…………… continues on MLive.com
